B.A. Teaching German
At the RWTH Aachen the study is possible for two teaching positions: Teaching German at technical colleges ["Vocational School Teacher"] and Teaching German at grammar schools and comprehensive schools ["Gymnasium and Gesamtschule Teacher"]. The first phase of the teacher training consists of the 6-semester Bachelor's programme and the 4-semester Master's programme. The second phase in NRW is the 18-month internship.

In the Bachelor's programme, which is related to the teaching profession, two subjects are usually studied in which teaching takes place later. The course of study in German comprises courses in older and newer literature at the Institute for German and General Literary Studies, linguistics and communication science at the Institute for Linguistics and Communication Science and the teaching and research area "Didactics German".

Students study according to the latest subject-specific examination regulations B.A. "Gymnasium/Gesamtschule" and "Berufskolleg".
